Pulling up to the Bles-Wold Dairy Farm we were greeted by a rustic red barn, cheerful sky blue family farm house and the soft sound of melodic mooing in the distance.

From farm to table, we meet up with Andre from Greenbelt farms along with his daughter at Chartier restaurant in Beaumont.

Chocolate chip happiness, mixed with a dash of warm hugs combined with great conversation between friends; the perfect recipe for a lovely afternoon with fellow mom and blogger Kari Skelton.

Whether it’s dance class, that late meeting, carpool duty or even just crawling through traffic, families have never been busier.

It was a bright and sunny drive to Greenbelt Farms located moments outside Wainwright. Cela and I sang country tunes most of the way, and counted canola fields.

The sun beamed into The Ruby Apron kitchen through a bank of windows at the back of the home, that looked out onto a backyard oasis full of lush greenery, a soothing waterfall feature, and planters brimming with edible goodness.

Our excitement mounted as we drove up the gravel path to Sunworks farm.  My mom, who was visiting from Newfoundland, joined Cela and me on our first visit to the organic farm.

A lush bank of forest surrounds the family farm, tree nursery, greenhouse and cut flower garden at Birchwood Meadows.
